The UNSW Optometry Clinic is a teaching facility. Your appointment will be with an optometry student supervised by a qualified optometrist. The consultation will take approximately 1.5-2.5 hours. These appointments support our final year optometry students in gaining the clinical experience they need to complete their studies.

Please do not attend if you have symptoms of COVID or any other infectious disease.

Your appointment will be with an optometry student supervised by a qualified optometrist. The consultation will take approximately 1.5-2.5 hours.
PLEASE NOTE: if you have not had a Primary Care appointment in the last 12 months then we will need to see you in the Primary Care Clinic first.
PLEASE NOTE: we are currently not seeing new patients at this time. If you need an appointment urgently, you may wish to go to the Dry Eye Institute in the Sydney CBD. The Dry Eye Clinic is for the management of dry eye disease in patients. The initial dry eye consultation is $110 (excluding the cost of treatments). The fee is not covered by Medicare of private health insurance. Follow up appointments are $45 each. In order to attend, you will need to have a referral from your local optometrist. If you would like a full comprehensive eye check with glasses prescription, the Primary Care Clinic is best suited for you.
The appointment fee for the colour vision test is $150 for persons 14 years and younger and $200 for persons 15 years and older. The fee is not covered by Medicare or Private Health Insurance. PLEASE NOTE: we require payment upfront to secure the booking.

In order to evaluate your eye health, your eye examination may include the instillation of eye drops which cause temporary blurry vision. This will affect your ability to drive for up to four hours after the examination. Check the tickbox to confirm you have understood this.
There is a $15 administration fee if you would like a copy of your prescription. This fee is refundable if you purchase glasses or contact lenses. Other admin fees may apply. Check the tickbox to confirm you have understood this.
